Fruit Gatherer's Guide
Gathering is the safest lifestyle in UrMud. You can always afford food, since you can simply eat the fruits you pick instead of selling them. Because trees and bushes usually hold plenty of fruit, you won't have to walk as much as a harvester. Unlike scavengers, you don't rely on finding rare items to afford food so you won't go through hard times. Finally, gathering requires very little starting investment before you start filling your money pouch.

You'll want to bring as much fruit as possible back to town, so bags will be very important. Since you won't need to walk that much or perform any special actions, and you don't need to save some money for food, bags should in fact be your top priority.

Hiking Tips
Rest under tents and trees when your legs start getting tired, they'll protect you from the harsh sun and the cold rain, so you'll recover faster.

Campfires help recovery a LOT! Buy branches if you have to, but use campfires whenever you need to rest!

Reed Basket - This is the very first thing you'll want to buy. It can hold 5 apples or 4 branches so you can carry three times as much, and since it's cheap you can afford it early on. Next you'll want to work towards affording a cloth sack - it may be expensive, but it's worth it.

Cloth Sack - The cloth sack is worth every coin. It can hold 10 apples or 8 branches, twice as much as your basket, so switch to this as soon as you can afford to. This will really help you on your way to affording a satchel.

Cloth Satchel - The satchel is expensive, but it carries as much as the basket, and you can wear it so you can have both at the same time. It shouldn't take more than 5 loads with the cloth sack before you can afford a satchel, and again increase your carrying capacity.

White Tunic - This will help your poor little legs recover faster from those long walks through the forest. Besides, you don't want to stay nekkid right?

Sandals - With these you can walk further, without getting your feet poked by pointy rocks and other nasty things. They cost a lot though, and as a gatherer you won't walk as much as some other lifestyles so get the bags first.

Trade Opportunities
With all your bags you can carry trade goods easily, so keep track of trade opportunities. Don't invest too much at a time trading one thing though, or you may get unlucky!

Once you have all this equipment, you could start thinking about settling down. With all the fruits and wood you'll be bringing in, it shouldn't take you all that long.
