My Interests and Hobbies

 playing table tennis and badminton.
These two games need great skills but I 'm quite proud of that I play them very well. It seems that every Chinese is good at playing them. In fact, they are the most popular sports in China. And I think they are good for a person to build up his physique and train the flexibility of his body. In addition, they are easy to be done because the places for them can be found almost everywhere in any city of China and it's much easier  to find just a partner for playing them  than to find many partners for playing the other ball games such as soccer or basketball. I play badminton with my daughter in the courtyard for at least half an hour  almost each day in the autumn or winter .  
going out for fishing;
Oh, it's a great pleasure for me to catch a big fish in a pond or a river! I used to go to the countryside for fishing during the years when I was a general surgeon in the worker's hospital in my hometown.
swimming almost everyday in summer;
I think swimming is the best kind of sports and good for improving one's health. I began to swim in a river when I was a little boy and  I taught myself how to swim! At present, my daughter also enjoys swimming very much. She was taught how to swim  just by me .A great surprise to me,  it had taken only two hours for her to have learnt to swim. She can swim breaststroke, backstroke and free style. How clever she was! Now she is able to swim across a 600 meters distance. And she likes swimming just as a fish. Only my wife is not good at swimming in my family.
listening to music;
I prefer classic music to pop music. My favourite Chinese classical music is the melodious Liangzhu ( which is translated by me as Chinese Romeo and Juliet ). Although I can hear it from many sources, I  still ask my daughter to play it  on her electric organ from time to time. Also I quite like the music of the Internationle  played by a piano.
singing songs;
My friends told me many times that  my voice is pleasant to hear and they likes very much to listen to what I sing. Of course, this has encouraged me to some extent. So I  like to sing a song and often do so when I am in the mood. I can sing not only a lot of pop songs but also some classical songs such as the Internationle in English. The number of the English songs that I can sing is over 100, I guess. Would you believe so? By the way, I  am not the person who likes to brag in no case.
surfing  the Internet;
It's really a good feeling for me to visit every possible place in the world and make many friends from all over the world and exchange thoughts and views with friends on some matter just staying at my own home. Of course, the most important lies in that a lot of the latest news and the informations on some subjects of medicne can be gained easily and freely from the Internet. So I almost get online each day to see if there is any new e-mail for me or if there is any new development of certain events which I am concerned about and to meet my friends in certain chat room. I often find how time flies when I was surfing  the Internet !
inviting my friends round for tea;
Just as all typical Chinese, I prefer tea to coffe. I  especially like  to drink a kind of jasmine tea with fragrance. It's  quite comfortable for me to have  a good chat  with some close friends of mine while drinking a nice cup of tea. Do you think so ?
cooking by myself;
I think it's also interesting to cook myself. My family and my friends often give me praise. I don't know if  I'm really a good cook. What I enjoy most is Sichuan dishes , which I can cook a lot myself. Hope you will be able to have a taste of the dinner cooked all by myself at my own home some day.
taking photos;
I have been fond of photogaphy since I was a primary school pupil. At first, I had not my own camera and had to borrow or hire one from my friend or a photo studio.So I have used many kinds of cameras so far. The most favourite is the Seagull DF-! camera made in China. I can even develop a roll of film ( black and white ) by myself in my own darkroom that is not a real darkroom but a room of mine at dark night. And I once enlarged many black and white photographs with good quality using an enlarger borrowed from a friend of mine. This is just a good memory for me as the black and white photograph times is gone. As to coloured films, what I have used most is the Lucky Brand of China because it has a high quality with lower price than Kodak or Fuji films. Since last year, my optical camera has been taken place of by a nice digital camera which the brand is Olympus 730 zoom made in Japan. Now it's more convenient for me to take a photo at any objective. Since it's always interesting for me to take photos, I've taken a lot of photographs of my family and my friends. Like most photographer, I have quite few of the photograph of myself. so my conclusion is that a photographer is great  with serving the others all the time .
making tours;
I have to confess that  I've been to quite few placies so far because I'm wanted almost every day to perform an operation on a patient with tumor or injury of bone and joint , to give some help to certain patient or to give some instruction to the younger orthopedist  under my leadership. But  I like to travel indeed. I'm sure I will make as many tours as I can in the future. A great wish for me now  is to make tour all over China first and then all over the world although I know it's just a dream for the time being. May at least half my dream come true in the future. Up till now have I never been out of China nor to our capital city Beijing. You must laugh at me, or don't believe me, right? All that I have said are absolutely true .
keeping pets;
All my family members,especially my daughter, are animal lovers. We have not only a lovely chihuahua named Guard, a little cat named Fisher but also a little tortois as our pets. And we have to have these three little animals  instead of any big or medium-sized animals because all of us dislike the noise that the bigger animals often make . A tortoise is quite meek and mild that makes us love it pretty well. What we like it best is that it 's easy to be raised  without being given food each day and will never make our house dirty. Our Guard is very clever, gentle and loyal that  my daughter loves it very much.  Fisher is a turkish van  with a beautiful white and brown coat .She has driven all the  annoying mouses away since she came in our house as a family member. Though keeping pets sometimes makes our house a bit  dirty and smell unpleasantly from time to time, none complains about it.
