Indy's Ranger Artifacts for the week of 11-4-01. Story and artifact announcement...
Message:

Greetins, brave travelers of the Rangerverse!

It's been a busy here, hasn't it? Well, I've been busy too and it's going to show this week. I have not one but two artifacts for your reading and viewing pleasure. You know the drill--that's at the end. But first, there's quite a lot of Rangerphile activity to cover.

And so, the week that was...

We start on Monday, where a talk about whether Chip and Dale have last names turned into a seminar on the topic. Fascinating how one point of Rangerana can hold our interest so long. For the record, I still think they have last names ;-)

Morgan K. piped in the same day with a silly top ten list concerning the most likely signs that Gadget and Fat Cat are having an affair. Gotta admit, Morgan, that's one out of right field--way out! Nice work, and hope you'll keep our funny bones entertained.

Jenny D. presented us with J.L. Solis' pic of Gadget as Wolverine. I think that incarnation of Gadget not only drinks motor oil, she eats the can, too!

Brian Walmer alerted us on Tuesday that he's working on a Christmas story involving the Rangers and the other Toon Disney stars. Looking forward to it, BW!

On Wednesday, Dragondreamerx mentioned the problem of human-animal communication in the Rangerverse. There's been enough inconsistencies in this to fuel a dozen fanfics--and we're getting close. The next one will likely be part six of the Untold Ranger Tales, due out late this month. Ha, nothing like working a plug in...

The J.A.M. took the floor on Thursday, explaining the finer points of animal hierarchy in his fanfiction world. Can't say I understand it exactly--I do catch on to the taxonomic nomenclature, but the hierarchy seems a little complex. Still, that would only be paralleling human culture, where everything's too complex. Just go try to read the U.S. Tax Code if you don't believe me. See you in 20 years or so.

On Friday, Gina Roberts mentioned it was Hitrat's b'day. Happy birthday, and hope it was fun!

Also on Friday, Nelson started up a great crossover story on the Story Board--the RR as the Dukes of Hazzard. Now being very close to the area where the fictional Hazzard county would be, I can say that I enjoyed this first installment very much! Keep it coming!

Saturday found a posting by Loneheart with a question on Zipper's past. Of all the Rangers, Zipper truly is the mystery character. Where was he born? Why did he stay with Monty and not his own kind? Why can't he talk when other bugs can? Will anyone ever notice him? We may just never know.

Today, Julie gave us a great pic of Gadget as a baseball player. I think the Yankees are doomed, with that cleanup hitter in the lineup for Arizona. Knock it out, Gadget! ;-)

Okay, now for this week's artifacts. There's been some mention of wanting to see a crossover between the Rangers and Pinky and The Brain. There was one done long ago, but now Chris Silva and I have written several, and the first one is presented here! It's a short piece, so easy reading, and takes place with the Rangers in their normal episode relationships. Follow the link below and hope it's to your liking, narf!

The second artifact is an idea born from a comment made at the Gadget screenshot page. I'd been working on tweaking those pics, and cleaning them up, when I remembered the mention of doing a caption for the pictures. So I decided to do just that. Here, as far as I know, are the first captioned Ranger screenshots. They're purely meant to be funny, and you'll find my first two here and here. Hope you like these, and I plan to construct a page with my captions pretty soon.

Well, that's it for now. Until next time, remember when you take an oar car ride to never take the right tunnel--particularly if it goes over lava!
