Greetings, fans of all things Rangerish! Well, this fedora-clad adventurer's had a busy week. I made my annual trek on Saturday to our local syrup-sopping festival, wherein we remember the great southern money crop called sugar cane. It was cold out there, but fun as well, and I even saw raw sugar cane being pressed for its juice that's boiled into syrup. Well, enough for traditions of the past--now it's time to look at what happened this week in RangerLand. Now, for the week that was... pOd brought us a nifty Gadget cartoon he created with a superhero (I'm assuming of his own design). Very nice, and maybe pOd would consider doing more for us on various Ranger topics? Maybe? On Tuesday, our beloved Foxyphile Jaleel announced that he'll soon be taking a leave of absence from the Feature. I'm sure all Rangerphiles join me in saluting all your hard work and dedication, Jaleel. If ever anyone deserved to be dubbed an honorary Ranger, it's you. MChet referred to a Ranger movie, and Stephen C reminded us that it was the subject of an April Fool's joke. I wish it wasn't, but then I also wonder if it would be better if they didn't make a movie. It's the eternal quandary--would it be better to have a movie, no matter how bad it is? Perhaps it would be best to remember the Rangers as they are, and not have a sub-par movie that messes up everything. Hieronymous Wombat (welcome in!) produced an innovative digital chalk drawing of the Rangers for us. Great intro, and hope you'll stick around! Rem also provided us with a new pic on the NGS. I was unable to tell just which one it was, but that prompted me to look at everything there--at least I tried, and I did enjoy the tour! Ray Jones posted about there being a lack of material for the November calendar. Let's keep that great calendar of his going, folks! Rebekah can't do all the pics, after all--even if we wish she could ;-) Another new Rangerphile joined our ranks on Friday. Welcome in, Joseph Sturch, and hope your stay is a happy one! Dragondreamerx suggested a crossover between Stuart Little and the Rangers. I think that's a good idea, and I'd like to see what Dragondreamerx or anyone else would do with this. Kevin Sharbaugh brought up the topic of the Rangers having a newspaper clipping about them. There are several explanations for this, as Donny noted. There could even be a rodent newspaper that we don't know about. A question we may never know the answer to. I haven't heard from Dale Arrendale, so I assume his place is still down. Hope you'll get it back up soon, Dale! No artifact this week, but be on the lookout next week. Until then, remember--never bring your father along on a mission, because he'll get stuck in a German tank and you'll have to barely avoid falling over the cliff saving him. |
