Indy's Ranger Artifacts for the week of 2-17-02...week 14 winner & more
Message:

Greetings, Rangerphiles!

Fast week, wasn't it? Sure seemed that way on this end. Anyway, I did manage to get a little done, putting up the Rangers-Animaniacs crossover and The Adventures of Bedivere Fayremounte. You'll find those in the Short Fics section on on the fanfics page. Thanks for the all the positive feedback from the A-Team story, btw. That's turned into one of my favorites, too.

Okay, caption time. Robert Knaus, you did it again! Great caption, and let me acknowledge several worthy mentions:

Charity

Your mad scientist license will expire in a month. Please contact your local Department of Alternative Alchemy to take your renewal exam.

Again? It doesn't seem like it has been that long...

Gorilla

Dear Sir, You are currently in the lead for who can keep a candle on there head the longest...

THERES A CANDLE ON MY HEAD...AGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kongo

At last! After thousands of Betty Crocker points it finaly came!

THE COLONEL'S SECRET 13 HERBS AND SPICES ARE MINE! HA HA HA HA HA

All right, on to this week--here's another one for the Tammy fans. What's upset her? Considering she's a teenager, the list could almost be endless...

And now, the week that was...

Gaby announced on Sunday that she's leaving the community for a little while. Thanks for letting us know, and we'll be here when you get back!

Ray Jones returned on Monday with the latest addition of his sculpy figure series. Very cute Gadget, and a good butterfly too for that matter. The man just gets better.

Kongo wondered which of the Rangers would play what character in "The Princess Bride". This one was all across the board. Say, why doens't somebody write this one up?

Candy Goldstein announced that "Everything Rescue Ranger" will no longer be a supported site. This site was the among the first Ranger pages that many of us found (including myself), so it really struck a common chord. But it will stay up, at least for the time being. Thanks for keeping the dream alive, Candy and Paltiel. ERR will always have its place in Rangerphile history.

Bw asked a common-enough question--what our favorite ten eps are. This changes over time of course, so I'll list my top five, at least:

Gadget Goes Hawaiian
Double-O Chipmunk
Chipwrecked Shipmunks
Kiwi's Big Adventure
Case of the Cola Cult

On Wednesday, I announced the grand opening of the new Indy's Ranger Museum. In case you missed it, the new site is integrated with the fanfic page and the captions page on my new splash page (I do plan to scale it back soon). The Museum is meant to be a comprehensive historical repository of Ranger and Rangerphile knowledge, both for the edification of newbies and the memories of veterans. I hope it's something that we all can enjoy.

Bw returned again, asking what "firsts" we saw in Double-O Chipmunk. Some of the answers got a little racy, but then again the episode itself was, too. It was truly a ground-breaking episode, and one that I for one would like to be able to interview the original writers about.

8-Bit started up a Nit-Picker's Guide--an idea that's come up before and I think could be implemented. Writers are natural nit-pickers, so this one should be a natural.

Looks like this is anniversary month! Happy anniversary of coming to the community, Robert Knaus and The J.A.M.!

On Saturday, KS started a discussion on Dale wearing dresses that got me an Chip ID into a back-and-forth on perspectives. It's okay to argue your points, but remember that there isn't necessarily a "right" perspective (even if we all agree on a given topic). I think discussions are good, because they put all ideas out on the table. It's up to each person to decide what they'll conclude.

Mole204 emerged this morning with a Valentines snippet about the Rangers. Looked good, as far as it got.

Loneheart added several more portions to "Gadget in Chains" this week, so go to the Story Board and see what it's about! Oh, and be sure to stop by the Foxglove Feature and check out the new installments over there as well--how do you do it, Jaleel?

That's that for this week. Gotta get ready for tonight.

Pinky: Gee Indy, what're you gonna do tonight?

Indy: Watch Raiders of the Lost Ark, what else?

Pinky: Is it okay if I scream during the part with the tarantulas this time?

Indy: Only if you sell it.
