Indy's Ranger Artifacts for the week of 2-3-02...week twelve winner and more
Message:

Happy Superbowl Sunday!

Well, before I settle down to watch the Rams and the Patriots, I thought I'd provide my weekly dose of wit and witticism. I've got a large update coming to my site in the next week or so--I was hoping for this week, but my time went to other things. Okay, on with the show...

Week twelve had just about as many replies to the caption as we've had for any of them! After giving it a lot of thought, I went with Robert Knaus' choice. I must admit, I was a bit biased by that one because I absolutely enjoy Calvin and Hobbes. Week thirteen puts Chip in a pretty harrowing situation, with Zipper as the only thing between him and free-fall. What's Zipper saying and what is Chip thinking? This one should be interesting.

And now, for the week that was...

8-Bit Star started the week out with a parody of the old "Archies" theme song, making it instead about the Cafe! Nice job, 8-Bit, and thanks for including yours truly!

James made an appearance on Tuesday, showing us his new website. Nice job, James, particularly on the design!

Ray Jones introduced the new February RR calendar on Wednesday, and by all reports it was quite a hit. The layout was excellent, Ray, and kudos to the Rangerphile artists that made it special. And a new pic by Charles Williams! Yay!

The J.A.M. announced a delay to "I Dream of the New Ranger" on Thursday, noting problems in translating. Keep at it, J.A.M., you'll get there!

Another song parody! Johan R. gives us "The Best of One Old Show", based on the RR song "I Want The Best of Everything". This song, all Rangerphiles can relate to. Great idea, Johan, and thanks for sharing!

Zipper asked if an update was forthcoming at the Feature, and Jaleel replied that it was. After some complications (easy there, pally!) Jaleel announced today that a major update was complete! More on that later...

Another new Rangerphile! Loki made his Cafe debut Thursday. Welcome, Loki, and hope you establish yourself here well before your tour of duty.

Oden and Helinem ended Thursday with a great, great new Gadget pic! The shading, shadowing, positioning and expression are all worth the price of admission. Excellent!

On Friday, Postmaster presented a new piece of artwork by Loki (the Russian, not the newbie). Great pic, but like everyone else I'm wondering who that is...

Leroy Brown posted, apologizing for any and all troubles he's caused here at the community. For the uninitiated, this stems back several months to hostilities on and off the board between lots of people. I'm glad that time's allowed everyone to cool down and see things maturely. Leroy, it took some courage to do that, and I respect what you did--as I do Zxi's reply.

Today, Jack posted his first piece of fanart for us. Medieval Gadget--neato! You wouldn't happen to be one of those medieval historical re-enactors, would you?

DumpsterSide has found the rocky shores of writer's block on his RR film script, and has decided to turn to the fanfic he promised us. Go for it, DS, and thanks for the nice words about the A-Team crossover!

Egad, three song parodies in one week! Schroeder got into the game today with a parody of Yes' "Yours Is No Disgrace", called "Rangers On The Case". Wish I knew the song, but the lyrics are cool. Nice work, Schroeder!

And last, and certainly highly anticipated, Jaleel has done a big update to the Feature! Now, you can post announcements of your upcoming work at the modified "What's New" part of the Feature, including links to new material! Look for the Message Center, on the right-hand side as you scroll down. He's done a good job of separating potential messages by topic. This is a neat idea, and Jaleel says that he'll soon have an Upload Feature to allow any Foxyphile to show off their own work without having to wait!

Oh, and one more thing--lots of story announcements this week. Sturch, Zipper, and Loneheart posted their new works to the Story Board. 8-Bit Star posted his to fanfic.net. Go, read, be happy!

That's that for this week, folks. As I said, there's a big update coming for my site soon, and hopefully I'll have it ready in time for the next Artifacts article. Until then, never be in too much of a hurry on your way out of a lost ancient temple. There's always booby-traps.
