Happy New Year, Rangerphiles! Well, we've made it to 2002. I'm a little behind my time tonight, because I had to change ISP's. For the moment, the e-mail addy on the board still works, but I may have to update it in the next few days. I'll let you know, in any case. With that said, on with the show... Again, a great collection of postings for week eight's caption contest. The selection was tough, but in the end I chose Chip ID's offering--I thought it was more along the lines of what Gadget herself would've said. Congratulations, Chip ID, and week nine's is up. This time, Gadget's more melancholy and appears to be making a comment on her situation or maybe something more general. I'm sure the captions will be as grand as ever. And now, for the week that was... On Monday, Kasai (welcome!) mentioned one of the problems of Rangerphile collecting--finding the plushes. Chip and Dale are still pretty common as they're still sold by Disney, but the others are only to be found at flea markets or on e-bay and the like. I've seen them all out there, though, so it's still possible to get them. I wonder who has the most unique plush-buying story in this community, or Ranger merchandise-buying story? I'd like to hear a few of them! Tuesday rang in the New Year, which was the only topic to be found for the most part. On Thurday, Ray Jones announced the January 2002 calendar page. Great work again, Ray, and I'm grateful to see this bastion of the community continuing. Remember folks, February's coming, so let's keep the man well-supplied! Also on Thursday, DumpsterSide mentioned his New Year's resolutions, sparking some from the rest of us. I'm not much into resolutions that I'd just break, but I will resolve to keep my role here as active as possible--when my dissertation work starts up, that may diminish some but rest assured I'll still be as dedicated as ever. Fictator on Friday brought up the question of Ranger voice artists. I posted this listing from the days of the old Disney Afternoon mailing list, but I'll repeat it here. The list also includes the voice lists for all the other DA shows, so if you're interested e-mail me and I'll pass it along...
Rescue Rangers
And last, but certainly not least, The J.A.M. is close to revealing his new fic, "I Dream of the New Ranger"! We of the voracious reading appetites can't wait! That's all for this week, folks. Follow the link below to the caption page, and see what you think Gadget's saying this week. Until next week, keep your whips and fedoras handy--you never know when you'll need them! |
