Hi again, Rangerphiles! Only two days till the big holiday! Merry Christmas, everyone, and I hope you're having as good as time as I am. I just finished up a very nice family get-together with my grandparents and an aunt and uncle thrown in for good measure. We had an early present exchange and opening, and now I've got to hit the malls with some gift cards! For week six of the caption context, we have a tie. I liked Loneheart's and Rennod's offerings so much, I used them both. Great work, guys--I really enjoyed that one. This week's pic features Fat Cat and the Goon squad--see what you think our favorite tubby tabby would be saying here. You'll find the link below as always. Now, for the week that was... On Monday, Kongo jumped right into the Rangerphile spirit and started
up a petition list for a letter to Disney for more Ranger goodies. Hey, it
never hurts to ask and if we pester them enough, well then maybe they'll
take notice. Who knows, maybe one of us will be running that place and
then we'll have the Gadget Mouse Show on in prime time! KS noted on Tuesday that the Christmas thread seems to have petered out. We had some creative difficulties this time, so I guess it'll remain in limbo unless someone picks it up again. At Chip we got Chip out of the Coffeehouse okay before it blew up--noses that cute are few and far-between ;-) The J.A.M. is putting all his jaguarish effort into finishing "I Dream of the New Ranger". Can't wait to see what's coming, and I'm sure it'll be good! On Thursday, Mr. Pi gave us one of the strangest yet neatest pics of Gadget yet--a multicolor spread formed from letters and symbols. Neato compleato, Mr. Pi! TOZ also brought us a Gadget pic Thursday, with Gadget in a reflective and somewhat somber mood. Thanks TOZ, and great work with the eyes! Also on Thursday was one of the more insteresting Ranger-based conversations I've seen here in quite some time. It started out with the basis for Dale character and spread from Gadget to Monty. I liked the depth and reach of the ideas--certainly a lot of them could be true with Monty. Also I'll add that Zipper I believe is a smaller version of Evinrude from The Rescuers--I guess they figured they'd use the same formula again, since it worked the first time. Jaleel returned on Thursday with a short update for the Feature and some sad news about Marty Holton, Deborah's agent and friend. He has cancer and the news doesn't look good for him. Our prayers and hopes go out to Marty and his family. Thanks for letting us know, Jaleel, and for all the work you do at the Feature. Don't forget the Ranger Poll! On Friday, yours truly and Chris Silva posted part seven of the Untold Ranger Tales. I hope it proves enjoyable to the fans of the series and anyone else who takes a gander at it. I personally have enjoyed writing this series and seeing how far we could mature the Rangers--I've been pleased with the results. There are two more big parts to come yet, at least, and a couple of shorter pieces that we're deliberating on whether to release them or not. Anyway, there's more to come. Today, we welcome two more Rangerphiles to our port in the online storm. Allen Hopper and Khakarot, welcome to the Cafe! I hope your time here is pleasant, and we're always glad to see more fans of our favorite rodents. This was a short week compared to the past two, wasn't it? Well, now it's time for holiday movies and going to family gatherings and remembering what the season's all about. It's been one of the most unique years in memory, and I'll be doing a year-in-remembrance article next Sunday. Until then, I wish for each of you the best of happiness this Christmas, and may it remind us all of what's truly important in our lives. | |
