Hello again, Rangerphiles! Can you believe it's December already? Where has the year gone? Seems like each one goes by faster than the last. Here in Indyland, it's just starting to feel like winter in any fashion and still the highs are in the 70's. Looks to be a mild one this year. And now, the news... Another great week of caption suggestions, folks! This week, the honors go to The J.A.M. Congratulations, J.A.M., and there's a new one up for everyone's caption-filling pleasure. This one may present more of a challenge, because Gadget had a great line herself to go with this one from the episode. Still, I'm sure you'll all rise to the occasion. You'll find the link to the Caption Page at the bottom of this eloquent commentary, as usual. Not that it's usually eloquent, because it's always eloquent ;-) And now, the week that was... On Monday, Joseph Sturch was wondering if bats and munks were compatible in terms of having offspring. I think Shroeder said it best--in the world of the Rangers, it is always possible. Looks like the J.A.M.'s got something up his authorial sleeve and I wouldn't be surprised if Chris Silva and I didn't have something in that direction either--looks like we'll be exploring the possibilities soon enough ;-) Julie once again treated us to her wonderful Christmas Ranger story, which has became an annual favorite. Thanks for bringing it out again, Julie, and I hope each new Rangerphile enjoys it as much as I did the first time I read it. Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street and now Rescue Rangers' Night Before Christmas--it doesn't get much better than that! Also on Monday, Rennod officially joined the growing numbers of online Rangerphiles. Welcome in, Rennod! Every person here counts, and makes the whole just a little bit better. Monday sure was a busy one, wasn't it? Rennod wondered out loud who would star in a live-action version of the Rescue Rangers. There were several suggestions and thoughts on the matter, so I'll throw in my two cents and see if they hit bottom. For Monty, the late John Candy would've been good, assuming he could've given us that Aussie accent. Dom DeLouise would be a good Fat Cat. Jim Carrey would make a great Dale, if he didn't wind up stealing the show. I think David James Elliot (who plays Harm on "JAG") would make a good Chip. As for Gadget, it's hard to say. I don't think there's a "natural" out there for her. Any thoughts from the rest of you? Pouncer and Natasha Ortiz let us know they're moving in a new apartment--moving's always a big show with heavy objects, so I know that'll take a lot out of the both of you. Hope all goes well! The J.A.M.'s new story's moving right along, and the anticipation builds! Looks like we're going to have several near-Christmas premieres--this story, Brian Walmer's (when it's completed) and part six of the Untold Ranger Tales, which I'm finally editing on. On Friday, RatLipS showed his online "face" to us. Welcome in, and glad we've got yet another addition to the online family. It's the fans that keep the show alive, and the more the merrier. RatLipS also asked if it's okay if he copied or manipulated the pics here. I have no objections if you want to use the background or the pics at the top of Chip and Dale--just as long as you don't defame the Rangers or the Cafe. A link back to this site would be thoughtful as well... Matthew asked if Gadget would like sci-fi movies. I think she would, though I do agree she'd probably nit-pick some. I think it would feed her imagination, and help her to develop new inventions. Dale's still hoping she'll invent a light-saber ;-) Matt Pearman chimed back in (hey, Matt!) on Saturday, wondering what our top five DA shows were. In a very particular order, they are:
1. Rescue Rangers I think Gummi Bears was the first one I saw, and I still like it. Toadie was one of my favorite characters in that one. "Humble Toadie make sure El Dukamente get response at palace!" DuckTales was next, and for a while I really enjoyed that one. Then TaleSpin came along and it was all I watched for quite a while. I grew to like DarkWing and now he's solidly in the middle of my favorites. But the Rangers have to always be the tops--well, it wouldn't say much for the board's moderator if they weren't :-) Lastly, Damon Togath has returned. Welcome back, and our Rangerphile group continues to grow! It's great that this community's still bringing in new people, and I think the Rangers' popularity speaks for itself. Well, that's it for this week. Until next time, staple those fedoras down and never let your father ride in the sidecar with you! |
