Indy's Ranger Artifacts for the week of 11-18-01 plus week one's caption winner...

Hiya, Rangerphiles!

Another mile-a-minute week's gone by, and it's time to see where we've been. First, let me announce the winner of the first week's caption contest. The contributions were all very good, but Ray Jones' contribution really stood out for me. Congratulations, Ray, and you'll find your name affixed atop the caption bearing your dialogue. I'll do that for each week's winner from here on out. By the way, week two's picture and caption is up, and this one's really got some "attitude"! You'll find the link to the caption page and the latest offerings at the link at the bottom.

Now, for the week that was...

Kudos to Matt Pearman for keeping TheBoz's Gadget Hackwrench site going, and to those who helped him recover the files and web pages. It's always good to see someone take up the Rangerphile torch like that.

Hello to Newton, another new Rangerphile! He's got a great story about to premiere that he allowed me to review, since there's a credit in it to one of my stories, and I can honestly say that it's one of the most entertaining RR fanfics I've read in some time. I highly recommend it to everyone when it comes out.

Speaking of stories, the Munks of Hazzard is building momentum as well. Strap yourselves in and hit the gas, it's time for a rip-snorting down-home Ranger tale. Yee-haw! Speaking more on stories, the J.A.M. is in high gear with preparations on "I Dream of the New Ranger". We all look forward to that one, J.A.M., and I'm sure it'll be your best yet.

On Tuesday, Jaleel announced a small update to the Feature and again reminded us that Real Life (tm) does in fact take precedence over our Rangerphile endeavors--if we could only get paid for doing this. Thanks for everything you do, Jaleel, and once your life out yonder's taken care of, come on back and we'll be more than glad to have you.

Dumpsterside asked an interesting question on Wednesday--are there sites that have Ranger character profiles? The only profiles I know of are from the Writer's Bible for the show that Bjoern kindly provided us with. Would someone be interested in writing up a general yet detailed character profile for each Ranger? You could even include the villains and popular fanfic characters as well. It could be a nice thing for newbies to refer to.

Those NGS boys were busy on Thursday and Saturday, giving us more and more excellent pics. Thanks guys, and keep 'em coming! I especially liked the one of Lahwhinie...er Gadget with the off-the-shoulder dress.

Matt Pearman asked on Thursday who owns the board. Technically, no one owns it, since it's just out there in cyberspace. I moderate the Acorn Cafe, along with the Story Board. Julie moderates the Off-Topic Board, and we sub for each other when one or the other is out of town. Stephen C. is our server host, and keeps things running for us. It's a team effort, because even with all three of us working, if you guys weren't here it wouldn't be the great community it is. Here's to you, Rangerphiles!

On Friday, Race noted that Chip and Dale (in their non-Ranger entities) were in a commercial for "A Disney Christmas". It is good to know that they're out there, if only in non-Ranger form. Still, there are occasional things like the voices of Chip and Dale being performed by the original voice artists in that Disney driving game for the computer. So at least we know that they're not entirely forgotten--just ignored for the most part. But we don't ignore them, so the spirit of the Rangers will never die, because it's the love of the Rangerphiles that keeps them going.

Well, that's it for this week, Ranger fans. Hope you enjoy plugging away at this week's caption, and until next week make sure you never but never say, "Well, they don't get any closer than that!"
