Indy's Ranger Artifacts for the week of 11-11-01...a new weekly contest...
Message:

Greetings, Ranger fans!

Well, at least that opening got you this far ;-) Yes, there's going to be a new contest 'round these parts. As you may have read, I decided to start making captions for various Ranger screenshots and the idea naturally came up to make the shots available for everyone to choose what each caption would say. I'm a fair-minded soul, so that's what we're going to do.

Starting today and with every Artifacts article, we'll have a new screenshot to provide a caption for. Entries here at the Cafe will be considered by yours truly--and likely yourselves--during the week and the best overall caption will be put up on the caption page the next Sunday. I'll supply a few more details down below.

Now, for the week that was...

Ray Jones got a major thread going with his announcement on the November calendar page. Great work as always, Ray, and kudos to the Rangerphiles for giving this community endeavor such great support!

Brian Walmer's hard at work on that RR/Toon Disney Christmas story. Keep at it, pally, and we'll enjoy reading it!

On Wednesday, Jeff Parkes asked for Monty-related stories, pics or whatever you'd like to contribute to his site. He's going to be headed out for Barcelona soon, so let's help Jeff give his site one last big update! I think I'll send you my Monty Indy pic--there aren't any Hovitos cheese worshippers on your site, right?

Brian Walmer checked back in on Thursday, talking about a group of Toon Disney characters who would be members of the nWo--I think that's wrestling's new World order. Frankly, I haven't watched "pro" wrestling since the days of Andre the Giant and when Randy Savage was a good guy--guess that dates me.

8-Bit-Star chimed in on the subject of Ranger dreams. Seems several of us have been having those lately. I've had a few myself, and the last one I had was pretty strange as it happened outside of any episode format. I was outside Headquarters and sitting on one of the main branches when Gadget came out and sat next to me. We talked for a while, pretty business-like. She gave me some advice, and that's about all I remember. What was strange was that it didn't seem strange to me or her--guess she's used to giving advice to Rangerphiles ;-)

All right, a new Rangerphile! Mikala joined us on Saturday, and already provided us with a neat pic and website. Thanks again, Mikala, and make yourself at home!

Matt Pearman needs help in obtaining TheBoz's old Gadget Hackwrench page. If any of you have the pages stored somewhere, let Matt know and he'll be ever-so-grateful. There is another way to get those pages through the browser cache, but I advise doing that only if you know what you're doing.

CD asked if there were fans of Clarice here. I've seen "Two Chips and a Miss", so I'm familiar with her. In Ranger lore, most people seem to have assumed that the Chip n' Dale we see there are the same ones that we see in the Rangers. I'm at least willing to entertain that notion, but I'd be curious to know what the rest of you think on that one.

Now, back to the contest. Since this took a little while to set up, I'm going to let this suffice as this week's artifact. You'll find the link to the captions page at the bottom of the screen. I've got two completed captions there for your amusement, as well as a third that's blank--that's this week's contest pic. What do you think that Gadget's saying in this pic? Is she singing, reciting poetry, or something else? Oh, and do try to keep your entries brief so they'll fit in the balloon and within the limits of decency, kay? Thanks, I look forward to seeing just how this is going to go!
