PAINTING
The
visual expression of the landscape makes Hannu
Sillanpää paint mental images and emotional responses from the
mystery on Nature. A human does not undertand nature and cannot
compete whit it.
We
have to have light if one is able to see colours. In Finland the
summer is short, in autumn
the colours get more near gray.
"April
is cruelest of the Months", said poet T.S Eliot. That means:
the temperature of the light is getting warmer and colours get
clearer. The first
flowers
appear.
My landcapes "does not exist" in nature. It is only in my
mind. When I paint I remember many
places
where I have been. I think I have "an mental eye" and that
guide my working. Also after I
have
stopped the painting I notice: there is often
something
familiar to be seen in the result.
